Refurbished wiring harness like new for w108/109

During this pandemic times I have spend much time doing things that regularly do not have time for.  I already refurbished all the wiring of my w109-6.3 and w109-300. I liked the thing and made some other harness as well.

Here’s list of the harness available for sale to bring your car to a like new condition again.

A friend from Africa who recently passed away challenged me if I was able to fabricate a RHD harness from a LHD having his RHD harness to make a perfect copy. I did it, was a huge work but is completed to perfection.

Can perform as well professional modifications to any harness to have modern mercedes OEM amenities like:

A. Transistorized ignition module as used on later MB
B. Hazard relay sub harnesses if not fitted OEM
C. Embedded alarm systems on the main harness that is unnoticeable to any trained eye or burglar, using your horns as sound alerting device, cutting power to either fuel pump or ignition coil.
D. Buzzer f lights are left on and ignition is off when you open the door.

Dear friends:

Just some things I didn’t mention on previous post related to what implies to repair one of this wiring harness.

Well this kind of work usually takes about 6 days with no hurry to complete in full.

The rejuvenation process includes:

• Removal of all external plastic tubing insulation looking for failure culprits, I mean melted cables, cracked insulation, splices hidden below tons of electric tape, etc.
  
• Replacement of all major charging system cables, which in the most of the cases are cracked which leads to a poor T30 (always energized cable) insulation, which at the same time is a fire hazard and contributes to higher than normal battery discharge rates. The cables are changed for new marine grade full copper USA cables in the same gauge, except the one from alternator to starter which always I prefer to have a higher capacity one. Marine grade cables have a higher spec than automotive spec, since this ones resist oil, heat can can be submerged in water.  It is important to be full copper since that helps conductivity.
  
• Replacement of all external insulation plastic jackets with nylon weave ventilated jackets.  In that way you provide the wear and tear protection to cables but at the same time give the, better heat dissipation. This kind of protective jackets is the one used by Mercedes on later cars. They stopped using the plastic tubing since heat dissipation is a problem there.
  
• Polishing of all cable terminals connectors. A great connection helps with system reliability.
  
• Deep cleaning and polishing of the main fuse box, crucial part of the system which causes many failures due to poor contacts.
  
• New correct type fuses, German made. No cheap Chinese stuff.
  

That is more or less what I do to each of these babies.  As you can see is a matter of love for Mercedes, since this huge work will mostly never done since is labor intensive.

New MB wiring harnesses for W108/109 are hard to source, so this is a viable option to make your car happy and receive the signals when it needs them.
